Open to 2 & 3 year old colts. To be vetted and x-rayed in advance.

Assessment of 1 & 2 year old colts & older Stallions
Open to 1 and 2 year old colts for assessment of potential to be prepared for stallion licensing. Open to stallions 4 yrs and older who would require 70 day performance testing prior to licensing. Will not require vetting and x-raying beforehand.

Foal Registration
Open to foals born to mares in the studbooks of the BHHS or VhW by approved stallions. These foals will then be branded and issued with pink papers. Reduced to £50 if done at show.

Foal registration and branding will remain at £75 if done at the regional shows.

Branding will take place when the foals have been registered and their ID's approved. Completed foal ID's should be returned with show entry forms. ID's must be completed under FEI rules using FEI terminology. Please ensure that your vet is aware.

Studbook Inspection
Open to mares 3 years old and over with approved pedigrees for entry into the studbooks of the BHHS, including Thoroughbred mares. All mares that are to be used for breeding must be entered into the studbook if the foals are to eligible for BHHS papers.

Open to foals that have been branded by the BHHS, or whose true breeder is a member of the BHHS.

The Part-Bred classes are open to horses that are by an approved Hanoverian Stallion and that are eligible for part-bred papers. Classes 16, 17 and 18 may be amalgamated if entries are insufficient.

For foals by approved Hanoverian stallions that are eligible for part-bred or Appendix papers. The TED GREEN TROPHY for the best foal.

Show Rules
1/
The decision of the judges is final.
2/
Competitors, spectators and officials attend this show at their own risk. No responsibility will be accepted for any theft, damage, illness, accident injury or loss to any person, or their property. It is a condition of entry that competitors shall indemnify the organisers against any legal action.
3/
Only snaffle bridles or headcollars will be permitted in the show ring except for stallions and invited ridden progeny.
4/
Receipt of entries will only be given if accompanied by a stamped addressed envelope.
5/
Challenge trophies must be signed for by winners at the Show Secretary’s office before being removed from the showground, and must be returned one month before the next show to the Society Secretary. In the event of loss or damage to challenge trophies, costs shall be met by the winners of such trophies.
6/
All exhibitors are required to wear appropriate dress when showing. The dress code is: Continental showing dress - Black or white trousers, white or Hanoverian yellow tops. Riders are required to wear show jackets and a hard hat.
7/
Children under 16 years are not allowed in the show ring.
8/
Entry monies will only be refunded if a vets or doctors certificate is produced.
9/
Only mares currently registered with the BHHS are eligible for showing, with the exception of 1 and 2 year old fillies, older mares new to the Society and mares entering classes 18. Only 1st & 2nd placed mares from class 6 to 11 are eligible for the championship.
10/
Only foals bearing the BHHS brand will be eligible for entry to the foal classes, unless the breeder of the foal (the owner of the mare at conception) is a member of the BHHS.
11/
The ‘Breeder’ is defined as the owner of the mare at the time of conception of the foal.
12/
It is a condition of entry that competitors agree to abide by the rules and conditions of entry listed above.
