A limited number of home brandings may be considered. These will be very expensive and any such requests must be made by mid-July.

Mares come for grading and foals come for branding and showing hoping to qualify for the main show at Addington in September.
Most of the foals are for sale, and buyers come as it is a great chance to see a good collection in one place.
At Witcham House Farm Stud we hold our show first Saturday in August, hoping for great weather to show our own and local breeders’ foals off at their best.Last year the weather was great. There were 9 mares for grading two home bred Hanoverians, a Westfalian, an Oldenburg, a Trakehner, 2 Hessen Mares and two British bred Hanoverians that all passed.
Neil Johnson comes over from Germany every year to show and run all the stock off at its best and needs a lot of beer at the barbeque to recuperate after! Branding, checking ID’s, taking hair samples for DNA is then done in the stables by Chairman of the society Ted Green.
The pure bred class had 16 foals forward and the highest mark went to Classic Prada who went on to fame in the Futurity with the top mark 9.75. She really knows how to present her best in the ring.
We always finish with a barbeque and try to make visitors enjoy it in the friendly style of foal shows in Germany.
In 2010 we plan to offer Hanoverian breeders the chance to bring some of their older stock to show off to potential buyers and we will show them run in hand or loose in the arena. We have some also that can be seen under saddle.
