Show Rules


1 The decision of the judges is final.

2 Competitors, spectators and officials attend this show at their own risk. No
responsibility will be accepted for any theft, damage, illness, accident injury or loss to any
person, or their property. It is a condition of entry that competitors shall indemnify the
organisers against any legal action.

3 Only snaffle bridles or headcollars will be permitted in the show ring except for
stallions and invited ridden progeny.

4 Receipt of entries will only be given if accompanied by a stamped addressed
envelope.

5 Challenge trophies must be signed for by winners at the Show Secretary’s office
before being removed from the showground, and must be returned one month before the
next show to the Society Secretary. In the event of loss or damage to challenge trophies,
costs shall be met by the winners of such trophies.

6 All exhibitors are required to wear appropriate dress when showing. The dress code
is: Continental showing dress - Black or white trousers, white or Hanoverian yellow tops.
Riders are required to wear show jackets and a hard hat.

7 Children under 16 years are not allowed in the show ring.

8 Entry monies will only be refunded if a vets or doctors certificate is produced.

9 Only mares currently registered with the BHHS are eligible for showing, with the
exception of 2 year old fillies, older mares new to the Society and mares entering classes 18
& 19. Only 1st & 2nd placed mares from class 7 to 14 are eligible for the championship.

10 Only foals bearing the BHHS brand will be eligible for entry to the foal classes.

11 The ‘Breeder’ is defined as the owner of the mare at the time of conception of the
foal.

12 It is a condition of entry that competitors agree to abide by the rules and conditions
of entry listed above.
