Change of Ownership

Do not send passports to us unless we ask you to and always use Recorded Delivery.  To be really safe use Special Delivery.

When you purchase a horse the owner should give you a Certificate of Ownership.

Put your name and address on the back of the Certificate of Ownership and send it to the BHHS studbook manager (address under ‘committee contacts’). When you receive back this certificate, fill in and sign page 10 of the passport (older passports have no page numbers).

If you have no Certificate of Ownership (these often get lost), send us a letter giving the
826006********* or DE ************* number and the name and address of the person you purchased it from. If the horse has not been named choose a name beginning with the first letter of the stallion name. The NED has provision to record competition names as well if a horse has one that is different from its studbook name.

The charge is £15 for non members and £10 for members. Please send a cheque payable to ‘The BHHS’

We can record Change of Ownership for most German Horses.
